Nei Dan Qigong - "Turning the Dharma Wheel"
Seminar on the Taoist/Buddhist meditation practice
Freedom from incessant thinking is a formidable, yet highly worthwhile
challenge. From the Taoist and Buddhist perspectives, desiring
(which the normal stresses of daily living tend to engage) is
strongly connected to thinking, and to being disconnected from
the present moment. Further, being non-present in the "now"
tends to engender consequences of suffering (e.g., disease, disharmony,
unhappiness, rapid aging, etc.). However, these two traditions
of personal development offer us powerful solutions to the challenge
of incessant thinking. The practice of meditation can center the
mind, so that the stresses of daily life are less likely to de-center
us and cause the scattering of our thinking/cognitive/feeling
processes.
Nei Dan Qigong means"still" or "internal."
Qi (or vital energy) will be enhanced by the teaching of simple
breath/body movements (Wei Dan Qigong). Participants will then
be given instruction on consciously circulating Qi through the
two major acupuncture meridians in the body. Participants will
then naturally enter a deep state of inner quiet/relaxation. Good
quality energy circulating through the body becomes the basis
of more fulfillment in the present moment. Without a good connection
to energy, we are powerless before our habits of dispersed thinking.
Practicing this meditation 15-20 minutes per day will gradually
engender more fulfillment in the present moment, and a wonderful
and healing sense of mental and physical well being.
